Don't know where to start with this weekend! A friend set up the trip with no regard for surf conditions - it was just time to get in the water. As the date got close, the forecast was nothing special and I was just hoping it would be big enough to get up on something at some point during the three days we would be there. As it turned out, every day was better than I ever could have imagined! Some of the best long-boarding of my life! Haven't seen peeling waves in the below head-high range like this for two or three years at a minimum! We were the only ones in the water at our chosen location each day! (Heard there were about 300 surfers out in town at a typical break.) Just an amazing weekend top to bottom - not the least of which was the company!

Nailed it! Nailed it! Nailed it!!

Sun on glass.... how could ya not be happy

Thanks Yeh, for sure! I truly thought it was gonna be just about dead flat. Also at this spot the mosquitos, this time of year, are notoriously vicious but we had been dodging rain so where we were camping had been dry and there were none of the little biters at all until the last night allowing us a mellow dinner on the beach at sunset which was a real gift!

I'm good. working waaaaay too much, and about to head down to Columbia for some work. hopefully to get a few days of surf in Panama or Costa R.. (I still have a board stashed in the rafters of my friends' house at Pavones)

I have a project down on an island...I shouldn't really name it on the internet, due to industrial spies, but we call it "Project Snowman".......

haven't really surfed much in SD this year. just not into it right now.

hope all is well with you guys.

P.S. Mako is a putz.......

LOL, well, that's be my version of a drop-knee cutback at some point in the turn Keepin it trimmed out due to the extreme mushyness of the day especially going right. Some of the lefts were shutting down but on the right ones/lefts you could get some steepness and actually get a shortboard going - made a 6'4" work for me near low tide for some fun fast ones.

Working too much will kill ya (course it is good to have solid work and has always sounded like you enjoy what you do.)

Hope ya get some surf and it gets ya reenergized or ya find something else that really gets you excited. Yeh, life is very good. We've been doing a lot more roadbiking and its been really cool! Also we're both on new Mt bikes and have gotten way back into that! Annnnnd we just can't seem to climb enough.... so much to do, so little time

Love life bruddah - safe travels!

LOL, the glasses?
Oakley water shades - I've had friends that have bought cheaper imitations that haven't lasted more that a couple outtings. I did modify ours with a better restraint cord.

I gotta tell ya, aside from the fact that you can basically do irreprible damage to your eyes (forget the name of the condition but even after you've had surgery to repair it, it comes back easily - I know a guy who has it - paralaxsis or something?) due to the sun, I can be out for 6 hours and not have my eyes just cooked and sore. I don't wear them on big days or when the sun is getting low behind me or if it's overcast but when it's blazing, they are really nice to have.

IF you really need to throw out the snide comments, LOL, go ahead brudda, I can take it

Finding new stone at Franklin and a place called Smoke Hole all the time! pretty sick!

Thanks G! Been thinkin bout that new wood board of yours. You gettin out on the lake on that thing?
